Fish Tail PCB Cutting Bit

The Fish Tail PCB End Mill for milling of PCBs, wood, plastic and foam.  This is a general purpose milling bit That can be used on a wide variety of materials.

Single Flute Cutting Bit

Single Flute tungsten carbide end mill to cut a wide variety of materials.  The single flute allows more material to be removed per revolution of the bit which is good for materials like aluminium and plastics.  It also allows spindles which do not have a low speed setting, to cut material more effectively.

Double Flute End Mill Cutting Bit

Double Flute tungsten carbide end mill to cut a wide variety of materials.  A double flute cutter has a flat bottom end which creates a smooth bottom surface.  The low flute count also work better with materials which is sensitive to heat generated by the cutting bit, like plastics.

Double Flute Down Cutting Bit

Double Flute tungsten carbide down cutting bit to cut a wide variety of materials.  A down cutter is used to push the material being cut down onto the cutting bed to assist with keeping the material in place.  The other advantage of a down cutter is that less dust is produced, because the material being removed is pushed down.  The low flute count also work better with materials which is sensitive to heat generated by the cutting bit, like plastics.  These bits are widely used to do profile cutting of wood or plastic materials.

Skimming bits are used to plane large surfaces like the bed of a CNC machine or to cut out big pockets in wood or plastic.

V-Curving Bit

V-Carving bits are used to cut a 2D image so that it created a 3D effect.  The 3D effect comes from the fact that the bit cuts deeper where the image is wider and shallower where the image is narrow. The difference in depth creates the 3D effect.

The other application of these bits are to chamfer the edge of a workpiece.
