This is an improvement over the standard E3D HeatBreak. It's made from stainless steel and plated with TwinClad XT coating. TwinClad XT is an Electroless Nickel composite coating and has a very low friction coefficient, often used in injection moulding machines because of it release properties. This high lubricity plating will make the filament flow easier through the hot end and prevent clogging in the critical zone of the hot end, where filament liquidizes. It is also very hard and corrosion resistant. Great for high abrasion filaments like Carbon Fiber, Metal filled, Aluminates, etc. The heat break is also stepped on the inside to improve PLA printing.
